Have You Been Fooled?

The 4 Pillars of Health:  Have you been fooled?

Mainstream media has told you that to become “healthy” all you need to do is eat less and exercise more. This information is INCORRECT.

Think about it. If the key to becoming healthy was as simple as that everyone would be living to 100 and I would be out of a job!

The only thing eating less and moving more does is make you tired, cranky, and hungry.

Health is MUCH more than outward appearances. It includes managing stress levels, setting aside time to relax and recharge, and spending time doing things that make you happy.

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as:

"a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."

Health Encompasses 4 Areas:

NUTRITION:  Eating quality foods to promote vitality vs disease. Consuming more “whole” foods than items that come a box or bag.

SLEEP: Taking the time to let our bodies and minds recover, by getting a minimum of 8 hrs of sleep.

MOVEMENT: Striving to move more throughout the day by parking farther from entrances, getting up to walk at work, or taking the stairs. Notice I didn’t just say “exercise.”

STRESS MANAGEMENT: Creating a daily practice of alone time where you can allow your mind to decompress from life’s stresses. This could be meditating, journaling, walking, or even saying no to additional stressors.

In the next few week we are going talk A LOT more about the 4 pillars of health. Getting into the nitty gritty details about how they can drastically improve your quality of life!
